Rigor and Engagement for Growing Minds-Practical Applications
Bertie Kingore

Monday, November 18, 2013
9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile
Chicago, IL

Current research transforms education's focus from merely mastering content toward a major concern for rigor, relevance, depth, clarity, and understanding how instruction influences continuous learning and future lives. With humor and fast-paced ideas, investigate joyful, challenging strategies promoting a rigorous learning environment for all students while stimulating opportunities for the autonomy, cognitive skills, and complexity advanced students require in high-level learning cultures. Explore the five instructional priorities that foster rigor and engagement for all students while integrating standards with intellectual integrity. Participate in refreshing ways to engage students so they are motivated to exert the effort required to reach higher achievements. Exit with timesaving techniques and relevant applications characterized by low-preparation and high-impact so students' minds flourish without overwhelming teachers.

This workshop is for K-8 educators.
