***As of December 19, ISACS has cancelled this workshop. For more information please contact the ISACS office at 312-750-1190. We regret the inconvenience. We hope you will consider other ISACS professional development offerings.

Much of the learning in forward-thinking schools happens beyond the traditional classroom and beyond the traditional school day.  Spend a day discussing effective models for global education, the essential nature of collaborative leadership and evaluation metrics to measure the effectiveness of these powerful learning experiences.  Included in the day will be the following:

Introduction to Collaborative Leadership for the 21st Century
We hear the word collaboration all the time--but can you define and describe its elements?  Can you articulate how your school is fostering collaboration? Global Youth Leadership Institute (GYLI) has been working to help schools define and foster collaborative leadership among administrators, faculty and students for 10 years on three continents.  Learn to hone your understanding and experiences of collaborative leadership.

Connect the Dots of your Global Education Programs
Most schools include a few global dots--exchanges, service learning, language immersion.  How do we connect these dots into a cohesive global strategy and global focus in our schools?   Learn concrete steps to build a cohesive global program - from professional development to marketing and outreach, participants will use backwards design to create the goals and visions that your programs will support.

Program Evaluation for Experiences Beyond the Classroom
How do you evaluate what happens out of the classroom: global experiences, exchanges, retreats, leadership days, character education or community-building?  How do we know it all works?  Learn  ways to evaluate these "outside" experiences, and leave with frameworks for evaluation and principles for creating custom evaluations that demonstrate student and teacher learning outside of the classroom.

This workshop is for K-12 teachers and administrators.
