Designing User Experience for Admissions & All Who Hire
Carla Silver

Thursday, October 20, 2016 9:30 am - Friday, October 21, 2016 3:00 pm

ISACS Classroom
Chicago, IL

Registration Update
As of 10/18, Day Two, Friday, October 21 workshop has two spots available. Space is still available for Day One, Thursday, October 20. Register today if you plan to attend. Please call the ISACS office if you have any questions.

Spend two days disrupting, flipping, and reimagining with Leadership+Design. Schools make plenty of assumptions about the way we build our communities of students, families, faculty and staff. Our process for recruiting and hiring adult professional staff and our student admissions processes rely on assumptions that may or may no longer be valid, relevant, effective or human-centered. Over two days, participants in one or both of these experiential, hands-on workshops will have the opportunity to question the status quo of admissions and hiring and playfully reimagine the way schools can meet emerging needs and utilize new levers and resources. Pre-work may be suggested for this workshop. ISACS will provide pre-work details as the workshop approaches.

Schedule

  • Day One: "Using Human-Centered Design to Create a 21st Century Hiring Process" with Carla Silver, Thursday, October 20, 2016, Time: 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
  • Day Two: "Using Human-Centered Design to Redesign the Admissions Experience" with Carla Silver, Friday, October 21, 2016, Time: 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Day One: Thursday, October 20
USING HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN TO CREATE A 21st CENTURY HIRING PROCESS

If your school is strategically committed to developing culture of collaboration, creativity and leadership in your adult professional community, you need hiring processes that align with your goals.  How do you create compelling job descriptions and hiring processes that attract the right candidates and can also assess them for the new skills you seek? Break up the parts of your hiring process that aren’t working, are inefficient or are obstacles to the strategic direction of your school.

This workshop is for anyone who hires including: heads of school, assistant/associate heads, division heads, department chairs, deans of faculty and other administrators.

Day Two: Friday, October 21
USING HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN TO REDESIGN THE ADMISSIONS EXPERIENCE

Unlock your creative superpowers and your inner experience designer during this day-long workshop that will allow your school to redesign the admissions process. Design a human-centered admissions process that seeks to understand and meet the needs of parents and students and engage them from the first touch to the day they join your community.  Learn user experience (UX) design tactics, habits and mindsets that will allow you to create an extraordinary and distinctive admissions journey for your prospective families.

This workshop is for: admissions directors and admissions staff, heads of school, associate/assistant heads, division heads and department chairs.
