New Heads Network - June 15-June 16, 2020

On Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 as part of the New Heads Network (NHN), please join your colleagues for a two-day program at New City School, St. Louis, MO. Pre-registration for this event is required as part of the 2019-20 New Heads Network.

This is a year-long program supporting new heads of school. Events will take place:

  • Monday, June 15-Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in St. Louis, MO

New Heads Network Faculty


Donna Harris, EdD has served as president of Minnehaha Academy (MN), a PK-12 Christian school, since 2009. Previously Donna served as the assistant superintendent and chief academic officer at Valley Christian Schools. Donna also has taught in public schools, twice receiving Intel Corporation’s prestigious Innovation in Teaching award. She authored Diversity in the Christian School, a chapter in the book Building a Better School. Donna currently serves on the ISACS board of trustees.

Lou Salza, MEd retired in July 2018 after serving schools for 45 years. Most recently he served as head of school at Lawrence School (OH) and Assets School (HI). Prior to serving as a head, Lou served as vice principal, teacher, tutor, supervisor, and division head.  His board service includes the National Association of Independent Schools, the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, Glen Urquhart School (MA), Ohio Association of Independent Schools, and the Learning Disabilities Network. Since 2009, he has served as group facilitator at the Harvard Principals Center’s Summer Leadership Institute for mid-career principals and heads.

Claudia Daggett, MSEd joined ISACS as president in 2014. She began her independent school career as a teacher at The Prairie School (WI) and has served in a variety of leadership roles including 11 years as head of school at Friends Academy (MA). Claudia previously served as executive director of the Elementary School Heads Association and independent school consultant with Gregory Floyd and Associates. She has contributed articles to The Trustees' Letter and The Heads' Letter and a chapter to the latest edition of the NAIS Head Search Handbook.

  • Sharing of first-year experiences among the group
  • Sessions on head/board chair relationship, board committees, change, and school culture
  • The Second Year and Beyond

On Monday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. On Tuesday, breakfast and lunch will be provided.

An informal dinner will be offered on Sunday evening for those who are already in St. Louis, hosted by ISACS.

Registration Fee
A new head must be registered for the entire New Heads Network to attend the June 15-16, 2020 program.
